I’m almost done with my Nami Island Series!! Just one more season to go and one more activity to go!
Time passes by FAST! In the blink of an eye, It’s already winter and I’m so close to finishing my goal of going to Nami Island for all 4 seasons! So here it is: The Winter Season on Nami Island!
Since most of the people I know have already been to Nami Island, I figured I can just go by myself and explore Gapyeong on my own a bit. However, I was talking to this friend of mine and realized that she has never been to Nami Island yet! Also, she wanted to see snow in Korea - the perfect excuse for us two to go together!
As usual, the transportation there was long but because of my friend, the journey was bearable. Since we stayed in different guesthouses in Seoul, we decided to meet up Sangbong station and go to Gapyeong together!
From Gapyeong station, we took a bus as per usual. Because we were pretty early, there were no crowds of people and it was quite peaceful and quiet! We got to Nami Island Wharf at around 10 am and proceeded to buy a ticket at the ticket booth.
To my surprise, Nami Island changed their pricing since Autumn! There no longer is a discount for foreigners and they also upped their prices. The admission is now ₩13,000 Including the admission ₩10,000 and the ferry ticket of ₩3,000.
Oh wells, at least I won’t have to pay for this in Spring since I’m coming for the zip line in early April ㅋㅋㅋㅋ
We got to the island pretty early as well… Since it’s my third time coming, I suggested that we take the route that tourists don’t normally go to (It was the best decision ever!) We got some really good pictures with no one around and we went a little bit crazy as well haha
Let’s Jump. Everybody Jump!
We were feeling daring so we decided to walk on the ice. It was quite scary since I heard the ice cracking beneath us… But this is what happens when you put us together haha!
Yup with no one around, we just went crazy with picture taking. I brought my tripod, so we set it up and kept on pressing the bluebooth shutter hahaha!
While walking around, we found bunnies again! I think maybe this time they were so hungry, they kind of just ignores us and lets us take pictures of them ^^
During winter, Nami Island also showcases Ice sculptures and snow sculptures! There’s also a sledding area for visitors!! It was so fun!
Since we are here on Nami Island in the Winter, we HAD to check out the filming locations for “Winter Sonata” on the island!!
The infamous snowman hahaha
Finally, a few words of thought:
Even though it’s my third time going to Nami Island, this place never disappoints me. Some people might say, isn’t going for all 4 seasons a bit too much? I say not because each season has their own distinctive features and scenery that you cannot see in other seasons! So it is definitely worth it in my opinion.
